Nigel Jamison paints the sea, drawn back to it again and again for reasons he keeps simple: he finds it beautiful. That singular focus runs through his work, each piece another attempt at the same subject from a different angle of light or weather. Away from the easel, his dog remains his favourite creature, a fact he offers without much explanation and none is really needed. There is no manifesto here, no elaborate theory of practice, just a painter returning steadily to the water because it holds his attention in a way little else does.
